2009 Honolulu MarathonWe went out to cover the 2009 Honolulu Marathon a few weeks ago and were determined to make an interesting and professional video…. until we got there and couldn’t stop laughing our asses off at the Hilarious outfits, costumes and attitudes of these athletes. The 2009 Honolulu Marathon was impressive, 23,000 people showed up, 70% flew in from Japan, 7 flew in from Kenya, and the rest were Hawaii locals.

The Honolulu Marathon is famous for being held in the most awesome location of any marathon 
and for having the course with the least change in elevation.
For the 2009 Honolulu Marathon, WTFHawaii sponsored Action Sports Photographer Extraordinaire: Kyle Gregg. He did way better then expected, finishing the race faster then his planned time of 4h 20min.
DEFINITION: WTFHawaii Sponsorship = showing up to harass you all day (we didn’t pay his entry fee, train him, or even buy him beer)
Patrick Ivuti of Kenya (suuurrrrrprise) took 1st place this year running the 26.2 miles out to Hawaii Kai and back in 2hr 12m 14s. Congrats Paddy boy, watch your ass next year though… Kyle Gregg is coming for you. The 2010 Honolulu Marathon will be Sunday, December 12, 2010. (see you there Ivuti!!)
